The SXSW® Music and Media Conference celebrates its 25th Anniversary in 2011. The Music Conference aims to educate and inspire musicians and those who work with them. SXSW Music panels, speeches and related events happen at the Austin Convention Center on Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 19, 2011. The opportunity to develop new contacts and reconnect with old ones will make this SXSW the most memorable yet.
The 2011 SXSW Music Conference will include dozens of ideas generated publicly via the SXSW PanelPicker process. A call for ideas went out in June, and the public will vote on these ideas August 9 through August 29. Stay tuned to this corner of sxsw.com for more details as they emerge. The caliber of keynote and featured speakers also distinguish the SXSW Music Conference from other events. The 2010 SXSW Music Keynote Smokey Robinson joined a distinguished list of previous keynotes, including Quincy Jones, Lou Reed, Pete Townshend, and Neil Young. Check out more highlights from past SXSW speakers at the Official SXSW YouTube Channel.
Jam-packed with four full days of music panels, advanced level discussions, and talks geared for aspiring musicians, the Austin Convention Center is the place to be on Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday March 19. Be sure to check out the can't-miss artist interviews, as well as the Mentor, Quickies, and Demo Listening Sessions that span all four days as well. A long-running staple, the SXSW Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program, will return again with its 8 hours of CLE credit opportunity, set for Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. Take advantage of all that the Music Conference has to offer, from informative panel talks to insights from the industry's key players to compelling discussions.
